Mother's Day Gift Ideas from MomRN and Friends:

Send flowers or a plant. Plant a rose bush or other flowers or a tree or a whole flower bed for your mom or even with your mom or kids

porch swing, glider bench, or other patio or outside furniture or decorative items

Jewelry with children's birthstones or names ( Mother's rings, bracelets, necklaces), http://braceletstories.com from Jodi (can get special bracelets for mothers who have lost a child)

Put a scrapbook or photo album together with pictures of the kids in it

Book baskets with books by her favorite authors and a coffee mug/coffe or tea cup and tea, or mug and hot chocolate so she can indulge while she reads

DVD basket with some romantic or fun movies and of course, a family movie for all to enjoy together and popcorn and snacks

Make salt dough and trace each kid's hand then cut out. Use the round clothes pins and fold the two middle fingers down over the pin so the hands make the "sign" for love. When they are done and cool, remove the pin and spray with an acrylic and then slide some baby fake roses through the fingers. So the end product is your child's hand signing "I love you" and holding flowers for mom. Angie inEdmond

Ways to honor Mom:

A way to honor her is to go around and speak specific ways that she has blessed you or made a difference in your life. We all think it. But it is rarely said like it should be. The emphasis would be on how you cherish her. Everyone should be vying to say something repeatedly not just forced to have one single thing to say. Cheryl from Edmond

Write special memories, one per small piece of paper, and then place them in a special jar or other container, for Mom to open and read throughout the coming year.  Even better if you can get all her children/grandchildren to contribute (especially if in their own handwriting), and she could have enough for every day! Patty

Thank your children for making you a mother "I am so blessed to be YOUR mom". If your family doesn't do much...take it in stride and take some time to reflect on your mothering, your mother, etc. Thank God for being a mother, write a letter to your mother or a mother you admire. Andrea in Edmond

And my favorite...breakfast in bed on Mother's Day.  It just wouldn't be the same without soggy cereal, slightly burned cold toast, a Jello pudding cup, a glass of juice and a glass of room temperature chocolate milk...heavy on the chocolate syrup.  :-) Kathi in OKC
