Several fond grown up memories of costume dress up Halloween theme birthday parties in October! One time it was my first outing after child’s birth, grandma babysat and I dressed up as “Minnie Mouse”.

    What a great gift!

My favorite birthday party memory was my swim party when I was a child. I have a winter birthday, so my parties were all indoors, and my mom was able to rent out a local pool and we all went swimming!

The best birthday idea I have been a part of: Our friend/neighbor was turning 50 last year. 5 of us got together and each purchased 10 small gifts. We suprised her with a “birthday” lunch 50 days before her birthday. We gave her all the wrapped presents to take home. She got to open one present every day leading up to her real birthday. She was stunned. It was awesome!

Thanks to everyone who has entered so far! What great birthday party ideas! My oldest kid also has a winter birthday and wanted a swim party so we rented out a hotel pool for a couple of hours one year. Love the 50 gifts idea too! Very cool!

Well, there are many memories…. aren’t there? My favorite BDay memory was from my Jan 1991 birthday. My mom who was dying of cancer, got out of her bed and came to the dining room table with the rest of us looking as if she was “going to be OK”, happy, smiling, and eating all of her ice cream cake ~ Sadly she died a few days later on 2/7/91 – but that smiling happy memory can never be erased!
